I was born in Ukraine to a Jewish family that made the love of culture, literature, and history the very center of my existence. Could I have imagined back then that these would indeed become my full-time pursuit? When I moved to Italy in 1995, my dream was to have an academic career. I re-enrolled in university studies, wrote my PhD thesis, taught Russian in Genova and Palermo Universities, and published two novels along the way.
