Welcome to Osaka! Osaka castle is the city's most known historical landmark, located in the middle of downtown. While the green park around it is now always full of people strolling, picnicking, walking dogs, it was once a chaotic battlefield of warriors - Samurais- from the 16th century. A Shogun built Japan's biggest moat and stone walls here. Who were the Samurai and Shogun? What did they fight for? And what was their fate? I will share the story of two significant Shoguns who were involved in the foundation of Osaka castle - Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu - and how they rose to power and why they disappeared from history on this live-stream virtual tour. During our livestream walking tour, you’ll see a double moated castle with big stone walls, turret, bridge gates and more. They are historical remains from the 17th century. Join me on this interactive live virtual tour and learn about Japan's tumultuous civil war period and the peace the Shogun achieved in the 17th century. You’ll be able to ask me questions in real-time as we make our way through Osaka castle Park.
