Join me on this interactive live virtual tour and we’ll explore the wilds and legends of Plaosan Complex – home of the famous twin Buddhist Temples near Prambanan and Borobudur Temples of Java, Indonesia.A story of love and a monument to tolerance and acceptance, the temples were built by Rakai Pikatan, a Hindu of the Syailendra Dynasty in the 9th century AD, and his wife, Pramodyawardani, an adherent of Buddhism. Expanses of rice fields surround the temple as far as the eye can see. While serving as a meditative site, at times you can enjoy the splendor of the temple while seeing farmers plowing the fields or watching carts pass by, complete with their distinctive jingling sounds.During our tour, you’ll be able to ask me questions and chat with fellow participants as we explore this ancient sacred site.
